This half-bath has been a slow go. I knew I wanted to carry over the look and feel from my office/dining room, but I was also adamant that this space would have its own vibe.

The green wall color (Cilantro) was a non-negotiable for me. But once I had it up on the walls, it took me a long time to figure out what to do next. Well, welcome to the party - Chelsea Bronze Faux Metallic Tiles Peel and Stick Tiles by Brewster Home Fashions. Each package came with four 10” x 10” tiles (for a 5 ft x 5 ft room, I ordered 10) and was affixed with peel-off adhesive strips for easy installation. The instructions said the ceiling needed to be flat, but I tested that limit by going right atop the fancy plaster design. It worked!!

Much to my chagrin, the bathroom walls were not perfectly square (sigh), so it left some gaps, and some clever maneuvering was required to make it work. I still have some detailed work to do, which will happen another day. All the props in the world to Michelangelo, who took four years to paint the Sistine Chapel. This little project took me a solid two hours, and I’m not sure my neck will ever be the same.

You’ll see my mom, Diane, and Spencer hop in and out of the screen. They were a huge help, especially Mom, who stuck extra adhesive strips on the back of every tile. There’s also a little cameo from our mini Golden Doodle, Archie. He would not leave me alone!

Next up - looking to balance out the boldness of the walls with some natural wood accents and a few pieces of handmade art. Wish me luck!
